Joakim Aspegren

Principal

Mr. Aspegren co-founded ARC in 2002. He holds a B.A. in Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley and two Masters in Architecture and Historic Preservation from Columbia University. He has served as President and sole owner of the firm since 2006.

Prior to establishing ARC, Mr. Aspegren was a Project Manager at Malter & O’Donnell Architects, a New York based firm specializing in exterior restoration work, where he worked for six years. Mr. Aspegren completed his first restoration project in Europe prior to pursuing his graduate level studies at Columbia. While studying at Columbia University he provided consulting services for the World Monuments Fund, the leading private organization dedicated to saving the world’s most treasured places.

Mr. Aspegren is involved in all aspects of the firm’s management and has been responsible for the development and implementation of the firm’s standards and business procedures. His philosophy of professional practice, which employs personalized service to each and every client forms one of the foundations upon which ARC is built.

Mr. Aspegren has overseen the completion of over 250 restoration projects. The breadth of structure types, building materials and architectural features and styles, in the firm’s portfolio represents a vast knowledge base to draw from. Mr. Aspegren’s hands on approach to the management of the firm, assures that each project benefits from his experience, and that the quality of documents and construction administration remains consistent for all of the firm's projects..
